Statement of Faith |
We Believe.... THE BIBLE, both the Old and New Testament, is divinely inspired and is the complete infallible Word of God. It is God’s standard for our lives and the only reliable source for spiritual truth. (2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21). GOD is one, but has revealed himself as our Father which is Heaven; as Jesus Christ, Son of God; and as the Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Phil. 2:6, John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14, John 1:1; John 1:18; John 1:14, John 14:16;John 15:26). MAN, although made in the image of God, fell into sin and introduced sin to the human race (Rom. 3:10; 3:23). JESUS CHRIST came gave His life to save and restore man back to God (Rom. 5:14; 1 John 3:8). SALVATION is a free gift of God to sinful man, which is given by God’s grace and received by believing that God raised Jesus from the dead and by confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord. Those who do this are “Born Again” into God’s family and enter into eternal life. (Romans 10:9-10, Eph. 2:8-10, 2 Cor. 7:10; John 3:3-5; 1 John 5:12). BAPTISM IN WATER is obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ, causes sin to go into remission, and publically identifies us with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38-39, Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36-39). BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers who, “repent and are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.” (Matt. 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38,39; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 2:1-4). MANIFESTATIONS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, according to the scriptures include the Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Discerning of Spirits, The Gift of Faith, The Working of Miracles and Gifts of Healings, The Gift of Prophecy, Different Kinds of Tongues and The interpretation of Tongues. Since Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, these manifestations of the Spirit are still for the church today. (Ephesians 4:11; Romans 12:6-8; and 1 Corinthians 12:27-30). HOLINESS is the work of the “Holy Spirit,” or the “Spirit of Holiness.” Just like Salvation, is not earned, but is the gift of God and work of God in our lives in response to faith in our Lord Jesus Christ (Gal. 5:5; Heb. 12:14; 1 Thess. 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12-14; 1 Cor. 1:30). HEALING AND MIRACLES were part of Jesus’ ministry and remains a benefit of Jesus atoning work on the Cross; it demonstrates the power and existence of God to a lost and dying world and represents the will and love of the Father for His family, the Church. (Psalm 103; James 5:14,15; Mark 16:18; Isa. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24). EVANGELISM AND MISSIONS Jesus told his disciples to go into the world and freely give to the world what they had received from Him by healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, raising the dead, and casting out devils and that as they went preaching Salvation and building the Kingdom, God would confirm the gospel by allowing signs and wonders to occur in the lives and ministries of the believers (Matthew 10:8, Mark 16, John 14, 12, Acts 8:6, Gal. 3:5). JESUS’ WILL RETURN physically to this world as King of Kings and Lord of Lords as promised by our Lord in the Bible. This is something that we believe and welcome. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:16,17, Rev. 20) JESUS’ IS WITH US right now through the work of the Holy Spirit; he lives in our hearts by faith; and is present to minister to his people every time two or three believers meet together in His name. ABUNDANT LIFE IN HEAVEN: Heaven and Hell are two very different paths and very real destinations depending on whether or not a person receives Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior (John 10:10, Romans 6:23, Heb. 9:27; Rev. 19:20). |
